About the Therapist
Alicia White
Greetings and welcome to a safe place. I am a strong believer in that everyone has a purpose/calling. My joy comes from helping others overcome life challenges through self discovery. Through the years, I've found that some of the most difficult moments in life bring about tremendous personal and/or spiritual growth for those who embrace change. It takes a great amount of courage to seek help. I applaud your strength! I am honored that you are visiting my page and taking the first steps toward seeking assistance.

I am a licensed clinical social worker and board approved clinical supervisor for the state of Texas. I have over 9.5 years of experience providing therapy to young adults and the geriatric population. I also have extensive knowledge in working with veterans and ethnic minorities. I am highly trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, sex therapy, solution focused therapy, group psychotherapy, crisis intervention, supportive therapy, mantram repetition, and motivational interviewing.

I embrace a team approach to client-centered care. Our work together will be centered around evidence based practice and rooted in developing individualistic treatment plans and goals. My ultimate objective is for each client to accomplish their established goals and to teach/provide tools that can further your growth beyond our work together.
There are several theoretical frameworks that guide my practice, which include strengths based and humanistic perspectives. You can expect me to draw from your strengths and provide a supportive nonjudgmental environment while exploring difficult life circumstances. Come ready to do the work, knowing it will be uncomfortable at times. However, remember there is pain before healing. Be kind to yourself as you embark on this journey.

A little personal tidbit - I am a native Houstonian. I am a very creative being. I love the arts. I am photographer, painter, poet, song writer and designer in my spare time. I am a animal lover, though I currently do not have any pets.

My favorite past time is traveling and exploring other cultures. And I pretty certain that laughter is good for the soul! Laugh often...
One of my favorite quotes come from Gandhi
"Be the change that you wish to see in the world."
These are words I try to live by daily.
